My take on the spiritual and practical side of Covid-19 - National Emergency.

Below is a great video by an amazing doctor. If you have a spare 15 minutes, it is definitely worth the listen! Dr. Joe gives many scientific facts behind his teachings, but in a nutshell…the bare bones concept is that if we don’t take care of ourselves, then at some point we will be forced to…whether individually or globally.

I unknowingly spent numerous years in flight or fight mode, consistently staying on the high side of fear, survival, and illness! After so much time of staggering amounts of stress building up, my body was ready to give up. In an effort to quickly find out what was wrong with me, I of course seen multiple specialist, had scans, blood work, etc. finally landing in physical therapy to get myself functioning properly again.

THIS IS WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN WE LOSE CONTROL OF SOME ASPECT OF OUR LIFE OR OUR EMOTIONS.

THE SCATTERED THOUGHTS OF LOSING SELF IDENTITY ARE SIMPLY A PRODUCT OF BEING OUT OF ALIGNMENT!

self-care = everyday routine

A couple months ago, I fell off my self-care wagon I was being RELENTLESS to my inner being! I was working my day job, coming home…fulfilling Mom duties and general household functions, then when my son went to bed, I stayed up til wee hours of the morning working on my passion.

I wasn’t meditating, had stopped my vitamin routine, no proper sleep, rushing around, then BOOM!! I got sick!! Incredibly sick which ended up lasting a whole month….a whole month of being forced to get back on the self-care wagon!

DISREGARDING inner & OUTER self-care WILL 100% SHOW SIDE EFFECTs, lower immunity, & attract unwanted dis-ease!

7 TIPS TO KEEP YOU THRIVING!!

Now that we have discussed implementing self-care to nourish your spirit and vessel daily to avoid disease, let’s discuss our current situation and ways to help ourselves through this declared pandemic of covid-19.

Really!? I understand wanting supplies - but nobody needs years worth of toilet paper or cleaning supplies. There are so many people taking loads of items that everyone NEEDS! Shelves are bare, there is nothing left for the folks that just need some damn toilet paper, or the elderly needing vitamins for immune boosting, or shelter homes needing supplies for people who have nothing. 2 week supply is really the most anyone needs.

Choose nutrient rich foods and vitamins to always have on hand - lack of these things can make us prone to illness, moodiness, depression, fatigue, among many other things we don’t want happening.

Buy leafy greens like kale or spinach and freeze it. I like to take a couple handfuls of frozen greens - 16 oz of water - juice from half a lemon & blend….boom! Easy peasy, lemon squeasy, nutrient rich, alkalizing, green smoothie!

Vitamins A, C, D3, & Zinc are amazing for immunity & I loooove elderberry! They have liquid form, but my son and I take the gummies by Nature’s Bounty.

O-M-Golly! Why not!? This is the perfect time to dedicate some time to organizing.

Decluttering is incredibly effective towards having a positive state of mind and taking us away from any outside worries we should not be focusing on. Organize kitchen cabinets, closets, drawers, etc. I bet everyone has that good ole “junk drawer” that could use some attention! Ha-ha!

Soap & water baby! That is the magical solution…NOT HAND SANITZER! It’s a good temporary back up if a sink isn’t around but still keep hands away from face unless cleansed with soap and water.

FACT: It takes exactly 2 minutes of rubbing sanitizer into hands to officially kill some of a virus. Only 20 seconds with soap and warm water to wash it away completely.

Stretch your body, take deep breaths, clear your mind. Start from your head and focus on each inch of your body as you draw your attention down to your feet. Send loving thoughts to those parts for working properly (even if they are not working properly.) Your vessel loves getting attention from the light that breathed life into it and you are the only one who can satisfy that need.

If you are home, safe, warm, & healthy - then the gratitude cup should be overflowing!!

This was declared a national emergency which means most everyone is in the same boat. Have gratitude for our health care workers who can’t go home and are risking their health to help others. Have gratitude for all the folks working extra to deliver trucks of supplies to restock shelves & to the store workers who are getting everything restocked…the list goes on and on. There’s so much to be grateful for instead of trapping fear and anxiety inside of you.
